Not shown in @Cliff S original post #516 is a 4th Tab for "Performance Optimization" however I only see this Tab on my Windows 10 Home Laptop but NOT on any of my other 3 installations of Windows 10 Pro.

In my case that's because none of my SATA SSDs are the system disk, I have a M.2 PCIe for that(but it is a Samsung PM951:)).

I don't show the Performance Optimization screen either on 5.0. Windows 10 Pro, on a 850 Pro Samsung. (256GB)
Think this software is buggy myself.....plus I don't like the look and feel of it either.

The reason why many don't see the "Performance Op" is because that is an 840 EVO deal only., Remember the issues w/840 EVO? The firmware update, which included "Performance Op" fixed the issue w/those drives.

Personally, I was excited about this release/update, AND looking forward to RM. Nothing wrong w/using RAM to help things out, speed wise, especially when you have tons of it not being used. I DID like the way Plextor did their "caching", BUT, they have not update their software to work w/their new NVMe drives, and they are very slow at it and don't tell anyone what their plans are. Samsung you can usually count on. BUT, right now, Rapid Mode is "Not supported" on my 950 Pro. I guess we'll find out why from Tom's or AnandTech...

For AMD chipset users RAPID mode CANNOT be enabled in version Samsung Magician 5 even if it was succesfully working in previous version of Magician 4.9.7

    Any idea how to bypass?

I am just now building a 2nd system for my wife...a Z170. I will be getting my 2nd 512 Gb 850 Pro that I will put in it. So, should I go right to v5 of Magician?

I am using version 4.9.7 on my current system. I just noticed that new firmware is available on that one. Should I update my current system or leave it alone? EXM01B6Q is my current firmware.

I've not had any problems in the past with updating my Samsung Firmware, so yes I would update yours.
I always suggest to everyone to make a recent image backup, just to be safe. I use Macrium Reflect myself.
You can install Magician v5.0 and if you don't like it, then just go back to your older version. :)

Mike, a system image won't help when doing a firmware update. The update goes to the SSDs controller, and not to Windows.
