Strange cause I just checked mine, and its only using 0.4MB on the service.
In task manager the direct utilization is indeed 0.4 MB, however when I checked my total used memory with rapid versus without rapid enabled (all other things being equal) I am seeing 4 GB additional usage. Will check with more than one sample situation later. I am assuming that rapid utilizes memory in a similar manner to a RAM cache.

Well I also turned off Magician off, because it wants to always start at boot, Had version 4.7 off, but after installing 4.8 it turned itself back on. Magician does take up a lot of memory.

According to task manager I am only using 19% of my 16GB of memory.

If you have turned on Rapid, it will stay on even after 4.8 is turned off. To turn it off you have to restart 4.8 to disable Rapid. There is really no need to have magician run on startup since it performs no other meaningful function than to check for new versions.

Cliff S, which performance software are you using and what queue depth is it running on?

After installing Magician and enabling RAPID mode, don't forget to make a system image, or you'll have to do the whole shebang again if you have to reimage...

That's a new one on me. Did not have that issue inprior versions when running on Windows 7. Do you happen to know the reasons why that would be the case?

I don't want rapid mode off Snakeyes, just Magician.

As long as you enabled rapid, and then shut off magician and/or stopped it from restarting, you are fine.
