Karizma, A-Volute is the French company that created Nahimic Audio. If you're using Nahimic, surely updates will show up for it.
As for your "Cannot Connect to RPC service" problem, I have no idea.

    In the meantime,
    MUC have released 6.0.1.8492:
    Microsoft Update Catalog

This a generic update, so it should be good for most users.

there are at least 2 versions of 8492 from MUC - a 14.6Mb version (most likely a UAD driver - don't use this unless you are using a recent motherboard or laptop that has 8th gen. Intel CPUs or better [aka. Coffee Lake] OR have a qualified hardware ID for it) and a 138.8Mb version (a legacy HDA or non-UAD generic driver)

the A-volute extension & A-volute software component are used in Realtek UAD drivers with A-volute Nahimic integration only, Karizma. they are not used in the generic or legacy HDA Realtek drivers. can I ask what kind of computer you have? Run Speccy to gather the specs of your machine. You need to be using at least Windows 10 RS3 (v1709 - fall creators update and an X64 version) to use Realtek UAD drivers with A-volute Nahimic component/integration AND there is a Nahimic 3 UWP app from the Microsoft store to download after the Realtek UAD drivers & Nahimic components have been installed/updated.

Sorry...but what is the difference between UAD and HDA drivers?

UAD drivers = a lot smaller but requires at least Windows 10 X64 build 15063 (RS2) to use (these were created with the windows driver kit [WDK] from Win10 RS2, used in recent desktop/laptop/motherboards made recently - starting around late 2017 [or recent machines with at least AMD AM4 or 8th generation Intel processors]
HDA drivers = legacy high defintion audio, a lot bigger than the UAD drivers but can be used on many different versions of Windows ranging from Vista to Win10; use this on older computers manufactured before 2018 (or late 2017)

I wonder if Realtek are focusing more on UAD drivers lately...
on other forums I've noticed there are quite a bit of new updates, almost daily.

Btw, could someone explain to me why I would want or need one of those UAD drivers if I already have the usual HD Audio driver?
the only time you should use those UAD drivers is if you are using a computer made recently and that it came pre-installed with UAD drivers and with Win10 v1709 or v1803 [OR have a laptop, desktop PC or motherboard with a Realtek chipset with a qualifying hardware ID < ah that thing that I love to talk about]
ex. the Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 R2 board I got uses Realtek ALC892 audio with hardware device ID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1458A182" - this is listed in both the HDA driver (in HDXRtGi.INF file) and the UAD driver (in HDXGigabyte.INF file); that Gigabyte board can use either HDA or UAD (and not both of course) as I did an MS Update Catalog search on that specific ID.

otherwise the legacy (nonUAD) HD audio drivers are still good for older computers that can't support the new UAD drivers.

by the way, there were new 8507 UAD and generic 8504 FF00 (HDA) drivers that recently came out that I'm going to try out.

I'm on 1803 x64 and my specs are

    MSI B360M Bazooka motherboard
    I5-8400
    RX 580

Would downloading the nahimic app fix the RPC error I'm getting or are my specs not compatible?

The RPC error is not related to audio.

    Cheers,
actually it is related to the audio console not working.

    in response to the error

    "Cannot Connect to RPC service"

I had this problem yesterday when I disable one of the realtek startup services. which dont make sense to me.because it shows its running twice in task manager.

    this command listed in

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\RtkAudUService64.exe -background

is required to run audio console and also,

if its disabled, audio console app will time out with that error.

    in services.

Realtek Audio Universal Service, needs to be running.

but without the registry run command. none of the realtek apps will run.

I just tested this again to make sure, and the error is related to it not running.

Can someone explain how I can install UAD?

I have an ASUS B-350F which has Nahimic 3. Currently installed is 8504 FF03 with Sonic Studio 3 and Sonic Radar 3.

What UAD driver should I use
? I found the Sonic Studio 3 UWP here and the Realtek UWP here

    8504 >>>>> 8496 > 8492

ok, 8496 was great, actually significantly better sounding than 8492 here.
But now I'm finding 8504 is awesome sounding!
Outstanding clarity, separation, and low/high ends.
