, I totally agree with IFPMaximus34 when he states that “the 91 has a weird sizzling sound on end of vocals and a little excessive sharpness”. It's true, and one doesn't need to have a cultured ear or special hearing to realize this... especially when listening to a song.

    Peace
Hi @asturias7, build 8492 doesn't have that sizzling sound.

If I may, and no offence...
but, everyone has their own setup, this includes their preferred settings as well.
What may sound better to one person, may not be the case for another.
I also liken it to a piece of artwork: one man's garbage is another man's art.

Also, your last phrase, “It's very puzzling seeing this discussion. I doubt any of you could tell one driver version from another in a blind test” is a bit offensive. You're judging others' capabilities without knowing them personally. Please refrain from passing judgment on others.

If you must voice an opinion, you can simply say or query how others are able to hear the differences in quality of sound. You don't have to be so crude.

Btw, I personally can note a difference between updates. Maybe because I've being playing guitar since I was 6, or have always been in one way or another involved with music. Anyhow, for example, I totally agree with IFPMaximus34 when he states that “the 91 has a weird sizzling sound on end of vocals and a little excessive sharpness”. It's true, and one doesn't need to have a cultured ear or special hearing to realize this... especially when listening to a song.

    Peace
IMHO you are being a bit too offended. I spent 50+ years in Photo and when expressing my professuonal opinion of Cameras, Hardware, Software, and ([emoji50]) "Phgographers" I would construt my opinion just like that.
In other words - chill dude.

I'm on vacation and as chill as can be, "dude"...
not at all offended, and just giving my two cents

    Discussion over. ✌️

Greetings people, I have installed HD VDeck, because it cames in my motherboard cd, N68C-M, without success.
Using Linux, the sound works, but with Windows I am having problems. Realtek HD Audio Driver its not in the Device Manager by default, and one time I have forced the installation and the problems growth.
In the 'Audio inputs and outputs' item, in the Device Manager tree, only have the sub-items 'Line In', and two 'Microphone'.
Below 'Software devices', in the item 'Sound, video, and game controllers', have the sub-item 'High Definition Audio Device', with the driver version 10.0.17134.167, of 07/13/2018. In the Sound Menu, the Playback tab, its empty, saying 'No audio devices are installed'.
If someone could help me, thanks. Regards, Thiago.

Yeah, sizzling is the correct terms to describe it, but I'm still sticking with 8492.

Well..... Problem is that if, your motherboard software has HD VDeck, then it is NOT a realtek. its a via audio chip. and via takes long time to update their drivers.

They've also released 8491, but like 8485, they are hardware-specific, and might not work for most users.
I've decided, from now on, to share only the updates that are generic and larger in file size.

Tha t's exactly why I stopped posting update links. If only there was still public access to the Realtek ftp server
