For me build 8470 is a decent sounding driver, not sure if it's better than build 8467 though I'll keep it on for a few days to give it a proper tryout

Hi TUMIK, by strong do you mean the bass sounds louder compared to other builds you've used?

sound at 8% loudness such as was before by 25-30% maybe it's because I installed the driver with DTS and Dolby unlock .use win 10 /1803

I may post later on the simple steps on how to install Realtek UAD driver, which seemed to be used on newer Realtek chipsets found on recent laptops & motherboards using recent versions of Win10 only (RS2 or greater).
I take this back. switching from using traditional HDA (nonUAD) Realtek audio drivers to using the "UAD" Realtek audio drivers is not a simple task (and not an easy task for "super noobs" and amateurs). And mostly these newer UAD drivers are pre-installed by PC Manufacturers on AIO/desktop/laptop/tablet PCs made in late 2017 and in 2018 and may not install nor work effectively in older machines made before 2017. just follow the guide here but before doing so, remove/uninstall the existing Realtek audio drivers before attempting to install the UAD drivers.

Many of the hardware IDs (yup, those THINGs I said was like "pure gold") that were mentioned in the "traditional" Realtek audio drivers for older Realtek chipsets don't even "make the cut" in the UAD drivers. Best to stick with the traditional (130Mb-140Mb something) Realtek HDA drivers on older machines & motherboard unless users are using the H370/B360 series of motherboards from ASUS/ASRock/Gigabyte/MSI, which have UAD drivers pre-installed [or recent laptops like Sager Notebook's NP8375 & NP8955 laptops that also use UAD Realtek drivers].

special note to larc919 & Warkratos: someone posted an 8470 "FF10" driver package with the Creative DLL files here. do not use any of the new Realtek drivers from Microsoft Update Catalog as the Creative files are no longer included in many of the new 8xxx drivers. just use only the FF10 driver packs from now on wherever you can find them.

special note to Brink: there's an 8459 x86/32bit CAB package (80.4Mb) from MS Update Catalog. Microsoft posted that one later than the 64bit versions of 8459. So there are now 32bit & 64bit versions of 8459.

Also, the "real" requirements for using the Realtek Audio Control UWP app from MS store (still requires Realtek UAD driver with Realtek HSA software component installed) - this cannot be used with Win10 TH1/TH2/RS1 & LTSB editions and needs minimum RS2; this app is still beta software. I have only gotten the Realtek UWP app to work with my Gigabyte board using HWID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1458A182" since I did install a Realtek UAD driver on there (and the UAD driver does mention HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1458A182 in the INF files).

    Question from erpster's recent post

    @erpster
I have to say, when it comes to much of this, I am an admitted NOOB, but I'm a quick learn. So, I guess now I may understand better why the RPC connection error happens when trying the Realtek UWP app, although, I admit, I am currently using the 8470 FF10 driver, I DID NOT follow all these instructions to a T.
Some of this I don't understand and one is how to know the rsX version. I look at my build number from Settings>About and I only get the "Win 10 Pro Insider Preview, version 1803, OS build 17692.1rs._prerelease.180609-1317 I am not sure how to tell if I have a version of windows this Audio will work on.
My Gigabyte MB is a GA970a-DS3, so you note a H and B series, this confused me as well.
The onboard sound is Realtek HD, I thought I saw AC97 sound somewhere. Actually the codec is ALC888B/ALC887
So, maybe some of my efforts are for naught as I am not sure if these audio drivers and control program will even work.
Any help will be appreciated, especially when it comes to this "Realtek UWP app to work with my Gigabyte board using HWID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1458A182" since I did install a Realtek UAD driver on there (and the UAD driver does mention HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1458A182 in the INF files)."
Mainly because I guess I am not sure which actual driver version to choose, and also, would be great if I could add Dolby, but again, after much reading, I'm not sure this is possible.
I've built my own systems, am putting parts together for a newer one piece by piece as the prices drops on each one, but this one still works really well for my design business, I'd like to get as much use out of it as possible, and even may be adding another draftsman that would use this system. I've done pretty well at overclocking, registry editing with guidance and many other things, but when it comes to the HWID, .inf and some SYS stuff you mention, it gets a little over my head without spending hours on Google.
So, again, before I spend those hours, the simple question is, will the UAD and the UWP even work on my system?
With Realtek's std HD Audio manager and driver version 6.0.1.8470 I can reassign all jacks and get 5.1 and 7.1 to work with all speakers having sound in windows and only one audio app as I mentioned before, "PotPlayer" as it has settings for this, but not in any other basic audio players.

    Hi,

That driver package has been tampered with. It gets flagged by Windows Security as being unsecure.
People should not post links to external sources other than MS really.

    Cheers,
it was only "tampered" because of using hacked or modified DLL file or files for the driver to enable certain features that are normally not available with the un-modified or non-tampered ones.

many of my computers do not benefit from using the "modded" Realtek drivers and work fine with the non-modded ones.

Make sure "Loudness Equalization" is not checked under "Enhancements" tab? That is a great option for movies/video with crazy loud vs quiet parts, but otherwise...not so much.

Loudness Equalization is one of the first things I turn on with new Realtek driver builds, that is when it's available. It keeps all my sound sources at a similar level. Otherwise, volume of things such as .wav files is too low.

New member here so please forgive me if this has been asked & answered (I looked but couldn't find anything).

I have the latest Windows 10 update (1803) and am using the Nahimic drivers from my MB website, updated to the 8470 from Windows Update Catalog.

Since updating to Win10/1803, I have been unable to use the Realtek HD Audio Manager. I click on it and nothing. I've removed/added the drivers multiple time to no avail. I removed old packages so nothing is installed on a reboot and went back to older drivers but still nothing.

Any suggestions or help would be great. Thanks!
