Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version
-
Hey guys, sorry to bug everyone again. I was reading up on HW IDs here which could help identify the drivers. Mine are as follows:
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_1220&SUBSYS_1458A182&REV_1000
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_1220&SUBSYS_1458A182
My bug about not being able to save the settings for the Smart Headphone Amp wherein it resets to Level 1 upon reboot or restarting from power off still hasn't gone away. I've updated only the HD Audio drivers to 6.0.1.8412 but the bug persists. Somebody suggested that I upgrade my BIOS to F22 but unfortunately, my system isn't stable and W10 is prone to crashes and random restarts using this BIOS. I had to go back to my previous stable BIOS T20h.
Anybody got any ideas on how to resolve this?

You're welcome.
Someone tell if I'm wrong, but it seems 8416 and 8419 have the same exact files...???
If I'm wrong, I'm wrong... just curious to know. If so, I wonder what the difference is re the two updates.
Btw, 6.0.1.8425 is also available, only 15.3 MB:
Microsoft Update Catalog
Supported Hardware ID:
hdaudio\func_01&ven_10ec&dev_0256&subsys_144dc806

I'd also like an explanation of what's going on asturias7 . I tried installing buiild 8419 from the MUC and got the message that I already had the best driver installed for my hardware. I then downloaded build 8419 from Station Drivers unzipped it and tried installing it through device manager, it installed fine and sounds good as well. All I can assume is that MS is messing with the drivers that Realtek supply them with Or Realtek is supplying Microsoft with different files than their standard ones.
I did check the .inf files in both the MUC file and the file from SD, my hardware ID was not shown in the .cab file from the MUC but it was present in the file from SD, go figure.

8419 from MUC installed fine for me. Anything else is anybody's guess really.
Cheers,
