@ CountMike: I'm a bit wary of installing Realtek's very latest audio driver for 10, because it might be the wrong one (maybe not for my particular hardware IDs). I had an issue awhile back where I had done this, and it made my speakers sound atrocious. The reverb/echo was just really, really bad and distorted, causing my friends to joke that my speakers sound like a boombox.

The ones for my particular model on Dell's website work, sound fine, but are just well...........old. They're for Win7. I really would like to have the latest version that is optimal for 10, but don't want them to sound like crap. I know that some OEMs/manufacturers do customizations to drivers for specific models. The generic Realtek drivers are just that, generic, and may/may not sound fine. Also, the newest Realtek driver may or may not support SST (not sure if my model has that capability), does the driver installer auto-detect and adjust accordingly? Or do I need to find a version that specifically supports SST (or not)?

The Microsoft Update Catalog seems a bit useless, since I can't check all the Hardware IDs for the latest version(s) to see if they match what I'm seeing in Device Management.

The "Realtek High Definition Audio Codecs" is what I used last (http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false), all of which are dated 2015 or older. If I download the latest stable WHQL (not beta) driver from Realtek's FTP site, this would be better?
My Dell Audio (XPS, l502x) has issues with the latest drivers. on old drivers (6.0.1.7312 from 8/14) the EQ and Presets work, not the case with 7736 and even the global 7531

I'm not sure what's going on with Realtek HD drivers at the moment.

Today they have released yet another build, 7737 WHQL.

No problem, I'll keep posting the links to new releases as I find them.
It's becoming a chore trying them all out at the moment though

Thanks for keeping us up-to-date on what Realtek is releasing. For those of us that prefer to download from the MUC, version 6.0.1.7738 has been released on the Microsoft Update Catalog.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's still surprising and confusing to me that Realtek releases HD Audio updates so frequently, and without any changelog.

Initially i installed the driver supplied by the manufacturer but i was getting some strange dithering effects under normal browsing usage. I attempted to reinstall the drivers. Research showed that I was experiencing high latency but I wanted to keep my power saver management ON to have a cooler workstation.

So I was having issues installing the realtek sound drivers, after uninstalling the realtek drivers (from a botched installation that kept hanging), I manually installed the HD Audio driver (High Definition Audio (HD Audio) tool - Windows 10 hardware dev) and the installation proceded without error.

So if you are having any issues, you can probably give this a try.
    (I used the Build 7736)

Edit: Sound is playing great without distortion , but when I checked the driver details and I am seeing this, ->

Device HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0900&SUBSYS_1458A0B2&REV_1000\4&a5aecd&0&0201 could not be migrated.
