    Hi,

" unsecure ".........?? Why , coz its not Microsoft .......?
No, because it has clearly been tampered with and I can show how. It's not a WHQL signed package so Windows flags it.
IOW, if it were to be say a drive port driver W10 would crash on the next reboot and eventually start up a repair loop that won't succeed.

    Cheers,

    Hi,

this driver whql.but with integred dolby theatre driver manual .
Yes, I noticed it's been cobbled together but it's not good computing practice securitywise and posting links to it is against forum rules.

Which is why the mods removed the link if I am not mistaken.

Thanks for the heads up asturias7. Microsoft are getting pretty confusing at the moment, their releases are getting a bit random to say the least.
If they are releasing a new build why don't they do it in one hit instead of dribbling it out.
It really is so confusing and you have to go back to a previous release to see if it's compatible with what you have.
I also wish we could get change logs (as others have previously suggested), so we know what the heck is the difference in every update.

Do you all want to make a petition on change.org or what ever will get the most people involved? We really shouldnt be installing drives to our computers in this day in age when we dont know what the difference between the 200 meg drive we started with and the 1.2 gig driver we have now.... Shit still sounds the same.

    Hi,

That driver package has been tampered with. It gets flagged by Windows Security as being unsecure.
People should not post links to external sources other than MS really.

    Cheers,

actually allowing microsoft to update our pc's is just as fraught with peril, several times ive had to reinstall after an update so this isnt necessarily true.

unfortunately ANY upgrade is risky. i tried his package and it actually sounds better, but then again i knew I had the required files to restore my system if I needed too.

thats true with any software including windows recommended software, in fact ESPECIALLY Microsoft recommended software,

the more microsoft tries to do the more bloated and prone to issues it becomes

i had XP for years with nary a problem, then Window 7 came out and had plenty of issues, but eventually the fixed them and it was fine for years. ive had more issues with Windows 10 than any other except Vista,

so the answer is that no software is 100% safe. always use caution, and save your files and backups, redundancy is a good thing

the guys on tech powerup have a whole thread on realtek mods to unlock dolby in its various forms, and id venture that is where this file came from

none of their work is malicious, in fact 99.9% is quite good and i find them to be quite detailed. they taught me how to save and restore personal EQ PRESETS for example

you just have to use your discretion

many times the files Doogie and Brink have provided have caused me lose my presets and such, not that they are to blame, they are not, they are gallantly providing a service to aid us all. they dont need to do this.. they are like unselfish knights

just remember all software even microsoft carries risk

Thanks! At last, this driver enabled Dolby Audio on my Acer laptop with functioning equalizer that was not working on older drivers that included DAXV2. It only took abit over a year to get it fixed :)
