Hi! I have troubles with the microphone, with the audio driver version of gigabyte's website all works ok but the sound isn't good at all so I decided to install new drivers but installing for example the 6.0.1.8302 version I need to put +20db for microphone or people ear me very low...

    My motherboard:
    Gigabyte X370 Gaming 5

    Thanks!
I have mine at +30db or people dont hear me on my Asus Maximus 7. Duno why they dont just default to this setting. That being said, our cheap walmart microphones are also partly to blame.

Yes, I did but the same problem... need to put +20db in realtek's control panel for the microphone.

They have probably made other changes since for audio quality that possibly require the boost. GA-AX370-Gaming K7 (rev. 1.0) | Motherboard - GIGABYTE

Thats cool. Has two of the 1220 alc chips. one for the front and one for the back. Does the front port for the mic require the same +20db to work correctly?

Realtek HD Audio Driver version 6.0.1.8302 is now available from the MUC.
    64-bit only at the moment.

    Microsoft Update Catalog
    Thanks DooGie.
Been listening to some music for the past couple of hours...
maybe it's me, but it sounds like the bass has been boosted a bit with this latest update. To me it's a good update.
Let me know what you think.

Tried them now.. still can not change anything in EQ. I think it has to do something with Gigabyte.. because I can see logo there.. even If I am downloading them from MUC ? :/

Put it this way, I'm in no hurry to remove it :) It's a big improvement over the last few releases, the top end roughness has gone. I think you could be right about the bass boost but it's still nicely defined.
Overall it's got a sort of warm valve sound to it but the detail is still there.

Whether it's better than build 8279 is the question, personally the jury is out on that.

    Hi,

LOL. It ain't no OTL yet though.
Valve sound from a little chip who would have thought it possible.
    Well done RT.
I have it installed, the latest issue that is, and quite like it too. But then I like valves.

    Cheers,

Just one little question.. Am I okey only updating the drivers? Or is it better to do some kind of ''clean install'' ?
