For the Realtek .cab files I've found it best to ignore the DISM command and also having an install in the context menu. They don't work!
Easiest way is to create a new directory (name it whatever you want) then use an app such as winRAR or 7-Zip to unpack the .cab file to that directory.
Next open up Device Manager and go to Sound, video and game controller, double click it and you'll see Realtek High Definition Audio. Right click on that entry and select Update Driver Software, select Browse my computer for driver software. You'll then see a search box with a browse button next to it, just browse to the directory where you unpacked the .cab file then click next and the driver will install.
Hope the above is of some help.
I, too, had problems with that DISM method. Kept getting error 2, file not found. Your method worked perfectly! Thanks for the post!

    Can someone please help me?

I have a new Dell XPS 13 9343 laptop and have just done a clean install of Windows 10.
The Realtek updated driver from Dell's website will not install properly - just keeps looping and giving me a intel_coinst.dll error.
I've uninstalled and have sound but want the control panel and latest drivers.

@Showbiz ... RED arrow if you are running Windows 10 64-bit (x64) - GREEN arrow if you are running Windows 10 32-bit (x86). TC (assuming you are running the Anniversary Edition 14393, otherwise, the ones below each for 10586 edition)

    Thank you very much!
I don't even know what the Anniversary Edition is so assume I'm not running it?

@Showbiz ... hold down the Windows key and press R. In the box, type WINVER and press enter. A screen like this will appear. Post back what the build number is.
