Ok, so I have been all through this forum and I have been able to obtain a lot of REALLY good info.
I'm no pro by any means, in fact, I'm a "self taught geek" as I say. I know a lot but not a "whole lot", I guess I know a little about a lot.
So, I have been fooling around and I have finally got my settings and jacks all reconfigured to get at least 5.1 surround as I don't have any speakers left over to use as sides, so, I have center, "I disable Sub" as the front speakers have a Sub, and I have actual surround rears. It's cool because I can here various sounds from them all as it should be, however, at this point, I have only found one audio player that allows settings to utilize all the speakers. PotPlayer64. Sounds fantastic.
I'm not a big gamer anymore, my Design business has taken over most of that time for now, although, I am working with a few guys across the pond to develop a few new racing sims so I'll likely get back to it soon.
For now, I love music and I work well when it is playing around me, in fact, it keeps me focused and I'm way more productive with JAMS going.
My question is why is it that iTunes, Windows Media and VLC don't play through all speakers and seem to have no settings to allow this? Am I missing something really simple stupid here or are they just not capable, or is something needing set in my OS "17692 build"
The Audio controller produces sounds from all as it should and so does this one app, so I thought I would post the question and maybe learn something new.
6.0.1.8470 is out. Microsoft Update Catalog
