Recover corrupted SDcard that is not being read or recognized

    Hi,

I still have a corrupted SDcard that contains images of families 3 years ago. The last action was viewing images and let windows load thumbnails without touching anything, and the sdcard suddenly got corrupted for no reason. Today, when i connect the SDCard in a machine running Windows 10, it cause explorer.exe to freeze which makes me impossible to fix bad sectors. I tried many programs but none of them work

Do you know which program to recover corrupted SDcard that is not being read or recognized by Windows?

I have used Lexar Image Rescue before , it comes on their cards free but is available free too eg version 3 below but V5 is now a pay program I think, with a free Trial.

Before You Download or Visit External Websites... • Raymond.CC

Version 4 is available here , not sure if it is free though

    Lexar® Image Rescue® 4 Software | Lexar

You could try a Linux Live boot DVD and see if it will access the card.

SD cards are not sufficiently reliable for long term storage of important files. And add to that the possibility that they may be lost, stolen, or physically damaged. The only way to assure the safety of your data is to maintain backups. All files of any importance (regardless of the media they are stored on) should have at least one backup copy, 2 or more backup copies if the files are of particular importance. There are just too many ways to loose data to be without a backup. Data recovery after an incident cannot be relied on.

2 Months ago I also had a issue with SD Card and after trying to fix it , it render that I can not access it any longer, it keeps connecting and disconnecting from PC.

I have no explanation nor I do not know a solution for it, but from my experience is best do not put that SD card to the same PC where you can not access it correctly. Try it in other PC. Specially do not try to fix it in that PC.

    I was in W8.1.
I bought a new micro SDXC 64GB. Put it Android phone, it formatted automatic to FAT, then took it back to PC, copy files to it and put it back in Android.
It worked very well for 3 weeks. Suddenly there was something wrong. Put it in PC, tried to fix it, with Scan and Fix, there was coming an error "Access Denied", "Write Protect" but there is no switch for Write Protect in Micro SD.
Then went to DiskPart, tried the Clean Command and all the Time the same errors.
At the end the SD Card is not accessible at all, it Disconnects at once when I connect it to PC.
I know that SDXC may not be compatible with Android and I should not have done that, SDXC should only be used in SDXC Devices.
Well, it is also possible that I just picked up a bad Batch.

Note that the cost of professional data recovery from these devices is substantially more expensive than recovery from conventional drives. This is due to the nature of these devices and is unlikely to go down as time passes.
