CD/DVD drive disappears completely - worn out or internal issue?

    Thanks.. you should be able to replace the internal drive, should you wish, unless it's not in fact removable for some reason.

    It's removable, I said I've already replaced it once. I just thought I'd try an external, with the added benefit of not having to take my computer apart. :)
