How to disable Low Toner warning on Brother MFC7460DN

    I have a Brother MFC 7460DN multifunction laser printer/scanner/copier/fax.

I'd like to disable the Low Toner warning which comes up on all computers on my home network whenever I print from any device. This warning has been occurring for months, but print quality has not degraded at all since these warnings have been appearing. I'd rather just wait until print quality indicates that a new toner cartridge is needed.

I've read the user guide and explored the Properties of the printer in Devices and Printers Control Panel applet, but haven't found any way to disable the low toner warning.

    Any help out there?

    Thanks,
    Ken

If the toner is actually low then you need to replace it. However, sometimes the toner is not evenly spread and a false warning is displayed. Try to take the toner out, shake it side way to get the toner evenly spread might fix the problem.

There is a sensor window on the cartridge and you can place some black electrical tape over the window. On my HL-2170 it is on the right side toward the rear of cartridge. Some models do not have this sensor.

Actually, I have taken the toner cart out and shaken it to redistribute the toner, but that did not shut off the warning at all.

I was unable to find a sensor window on my cartridge.

    Thanks for the help, nonetheless.

The printer doesn't need maintenance. It's working fine. Print quality is excellent. Just get the Toner Low warning.

Have also tried sliding the green thingy back and forth a few times, but that didn't help either.

    Thanks for the suggestions, nonetheless.
