Uh, Peter, you posted the file name, not the contents. Open each file, hold CTRL and press A, right click and COPY, post the contents here with right click PASTE.

Hi Guys! Whew, you've been busy. I've just been catching up. :) Let me post some notes here I made while reading:

-RE: Speccy attachment: If everyone who needs this has it, please delete from post # 192. Go to EDIT, in Advanced Options, scroll down to see Manage Attachments. Click on it, click the little X in the top-right corner to remove it from the post. The reason is, it lists internal and external IPs and we don't want someone attacking you in the future.

I see the old Java on here in the installed files - that was removed, right? It is a security risk.

I thought you were using Trend Micro. But I see ESET on here and "active" - is that correct? Has this changed, or was Trend Micro a mistake?

The MBAM log posted as "root.txt" was a threat scan of 1hr 8 min. That was not the correct log - nothing was found.

The "objects.txt" file is the correct MBAM log. 7hrs 12 min. ASK (AskPartnerNetwork) Toolbar, Mindspark, MyPCBackup and InstallCore - nothing major here; glad they are gone now.

ADWCleaner is finding all the same stuff over and over; is this because you've only scanned, but not used the CLEAN button yet?

How is the computer running now, Peter? Does it seem perkier?

The System File Checker needs to be run, to determine if there are any problems with the system files. That would be the next step, in my opinion.

    FWIW:
The only way to use encrypted email is if the person you are addressing has the same encryption setup as you. Otherwise, all email is like sending a postcard in the postal mail. The two of you (sender+recipient) must share a decryption key to communicate.

I don't see anything wrong. It's clean. No "ask" toolbars or any of that crud. I think the ADWcleaner part is done!

    Now, next....

Peter, I'm gonna ask you to do something that is not on Simrick's list, you need to get a Restore Point done. You have no backup. I would hate to see your repair work so far get lost. It only takes a minute or two. OK?
