    solved.

went to the attached url and found instructions. It didnt work at first and it took out my keyboard drivers (asus laptop X553M). So I went back to site and downloaded the earlier version (all 64) and installed it correctly, you will maybe get error messages which is files in use but click continue and install completed then reboot. Then keyboard is back. Then go back to site and download and install the latest version again and it works and my touchpad is working for the first time in 10.

It's not the driver that drives you nuts, it's a setting in the Elantech software... Windows 10 installs the Elantech software automatically and it's easy to configure:

    • Open ETDAniConf.exe (in C://program files/Elantech)
    • de-select the vertical/horizontal scrolling tick boxes on the multi-finger tab
    • Select and enable (vertical/horizontal) edge-scrolling on the one-finger tab

Done - You can now spare your middle finger the hard work.

That file doesnėt exist in my Windows 10 (x64) folders. There is one named AsusTPConfigure64.exe that allows you to make modifications, but it doesn't solve the issue.

Then try downloading and installing the Elantech software to see if that fixes your issue. I would uninstall the Asus-software first, then install the Elantech one and try it out. According to my installed software overview, I have:
"ETDware X64 15.7.0.1 whql" installed. I tried googling it, but can't find a download link for that version, let alone any version 15.x. I found the following one you can give a try though: http://www.driverscape.com/files/not..._11.7.13.2.zip

It's about the same size (+/-80Mb) and looks like it's the full suite as well. Let me know if that helped

I've downloaded this but it's a Notepad document with just code and it's a zip file?? It's not an executable file. Also I don't have anything showing in the device manager related to the touch pad so nothing to uninstall

I own an Asus Notebook X202E. After upgrading to Windows 10 the left and right touchpad button did not work anymore. All the smart gestures worked just fine. The solution of the helpdesk of Asus was: roll back Windows to version 8 since we are not updating the drivers?!?
After searching for updated drivers on the internet I found them on: the Asus website... I deleted and then installed the ATK package and the Asus Smart Gesture driver. Nothing changed... I then deleted the Elan software from Configuration Screen - delete software. Et voila, the left and right touchpad button worked again. But all the smart gestures are gone and via Devices - Mouse not accessible also. The whole tab for configuring the touchpad is gone. Any body got a solution?

Vayana, thanks for this. It was driving me mad on the wife's laptop, the pointer would only release slowly from clicking to drag the scroll bar or move windows around. I didn't know Elantech was on there but thanks to your post identified the driver, found the software and the 'release immediately' option for the pointer. So your post is still helping people out 6 months on. Couldn't PM you as this is my first post, hope the mods don't mind this old thread getting bumped. Cheers!
