Audio defaults to 5.1 on boot

    I had the jack in the wrong port, port 2 for Headphones moved to port 3 for L/R front speakers...someone should have read the manual..

    Well i tend to not read manual, but may be because i am pretty good at electronics and technology.
    I have similar card and uses same software, might think of better speakers as that is a decent sound card to.

    It was more of a space consideration, they are suitable for what I use.

    I went through a big trim down on system parts a while ago, from 4 monitors to 2 and so forth so a much better but lighter system overall.

    It's fine just a suggestion, even a decent pair of headphones are a good idea for that card as i believe yours has a good amp in it for headphones. Good sounding card and quality card.

    Hi, i have the same issue. On reboot or from switching to and from 2.0 to headphones the windows settings go to 5.1.
    I have my headphones connected connected to port 1 and 2 and my amp connected to 3rd.
    Please help
