    Window 10 not detecting printer

So I have a Dell Latitude E6500 and I upgraded to windows 10. I had different hp deskjet computer that stopped printing so I bought a F4180. I installed the drivers from HP's website and then plugged in my printer. My computer isn't detecting the printer. Checked USB ports with my USB phone charger and all of the ports worked. I also tried using a different printer cable. Not sure what to do. I'm sooooo beyond frustrated. Not sure what to do. I REALLY need this to work.

Do this: First, power off printer and unplug the USB cable and power cable. Next, uninstall any HP printer software/driver package that is installed on the PC. Now do a reboot.

Installing printer; load the CD/DVD into the DVD tray and run .exe setup file (it should do this automatically). During this process, it will tell you when to turn on printer and when to connect the USB cable....follow those prompts and you should be good to go.

I don't have the CD/DVD for the printer. I bought the printer from Trade It.

Do you have a thumb drive/flash drive? Download the driver/software package from HP and follow said procedure?

Where these the correct software drivers you downloaded an installed ? Did you not have the USB plugged in until you received a prompt to plug it in from the driver setup screen ?

I downloaded the drivers from that page and I didn't plug the USB in until it prompted me to.

You do not see it in Device Manager under Printer, nor in the Device and Printers in the Control Panel ? Was there any yellow exclamation points in the Device Manager ?

So no listing for Printer in Device Manager ? Sounds like driver never was installed. You did try different ports on the back of the PC ?
What happened on screen when you plugged in the printers USB cable, what did it say ?
