    suggestions for a laptop please

    Looking at budget approx £500

need something at college level, for web design Unity projects etc. quite happy with Non Intel CPU if gives better price / performance. have heard that latest laptops have HDD's that are difficult to replace....but battery life is not important

saw a review for a Lenovo think pad 13, which came out really well, but seems to be a US model only, the U.K. Lenovo think pads of similar price seem to have poo reviews.....would like to know which are the best make laptops for reliability...

    thanks in advance

Hi, if you have a retail licensed for Win 7 or Win 8 you can use, and you'd like a 3 yr warranty, good service, a GPU, and a high res screen, good ventilation, and a laptop where most of the back comes off, with 1TB disk for your price try
PCSPECIALIST - CosmosIV 15, Gaming CosmosIV 15, Build Your Own CosmosIV 15, Buy CosmosIV 15

I know they show the base price as £510, but a basic configuration with i3 processor and 1Tb disk came out to my surprise to £471. (That's without an OS though....)

Have a look anyway. I like mine, except the positioning of the USBs near me on both sides is annoying.
Fantastic screen- can't see the pixels, and runs dead quiet.

BIOS is limited as regards options- the keyboard and touchpad can't wake it from sleep.

It can accommodate SSD as well, should you wish to upgrade.

But for college, you will get better value with an OS off the shelf.. and bearing in mind your comment I've heard access to current HP models is difficult - not seen myself.
