    Mouse Wheel Not Working

Hello. Lately mouse wheel has not been working. When I press the middle mouse button, the wheel appears for just a little bit, and then disappears. I can't use it to scroll.

Try reinstalling your mouse driver, and get the driver from whoever made your mouse, Not MS.

My computer says that my mouse is up to date. How do I uninstall my mouse driver?

Download your mouse driver 1st ....and have it ready. Then just install over your existing mouse driver, reboot, and see if it works better. You can uninstall it, just by clicking on the driver, and click on remove.

Is the "mouse driver" in the device manager? How do I know which one is the latest one to download?

When I press down on the wheel and hold it I get a circle with the arrows of 4 points of the compass then I can move the mouse up or down to 'scroll' through a page, all while holding the wheel depressed. Rolling the wheel is a separate function, might look in Control Panel, Mouse for its settings, I like 1 line at a time but with Win10 it is a slider bar and full left end is the 1 line.

It's on one line. i'm not talking about rolling problems, though. What I'm saying is, when I click the middle mouse button to try to use the mouse wheel, it doesn't work.

Most mice with the wheel have 2 functions, one is simply rolling and the other is the pressing and holding then move the mouse itself. To get either function to work one has to press the left button to get the focus in the page where one wants to work, just moving the pointer into a page or window doesn't change the focus from the previous page until a button is clicked.

I know. My problem is that whenever I activate the mouse wheel with the middle mouse button, the wheel just reverts to the regular cursor and doesn't do what it's supposed to do.

Well either try to update the mouse driver or just buy a new mouse, might cost 20 bucks......
