    @jds63 nope.. you have it wrong.. it's a game.. it can be any game.. and it just freezes.. I tried reformatting.. I tried another hard drive with my OS on it.. nothing.. it has nothing to do with one game specific.. really don't know what to call this issue... once on another hard drive.. everything just stopped responding and I really don't get it.. I honestly don't.. some conflict somewhere.

    @Oldmike
    did as you suggested.. it did anything but fix my pc.. it scanned it and said it couldn't repair it and told me to just shut off my pc.. any other suggestions?

    Is an expansion pack for the game, i understand you are having issues with any game now.

    Show us test of Samsung you said passed, only showed the ADATA. Besides downloading issues any games freeze on any drive. What drive again are games installed on or were ?

    I posted that image of the origin error because I thought it would of been needed to verify if it was a hard drive issue or not.. I posted the screenshot of the adata under the impression it was the culprit.. I will be attaching the screenshot of the Samsung evo 850 smart test now.

    Well that one looks fine. I do not think the download of that expansion pack is due to your other issue, freezing in game.Did you say you tried Samsung for the OS instead of others.

    never did try putting Windows on the Samsung.. only games is on that.. and freezing happens only happens when downloading games.. plus my pc not loading normally like it used to and not shutting off when i try to shut down and having to force restart or shut down means something isn't right.

    Good part of the issue were probably due to ADATA SSD at the time. Part of files are put on main OS drive for games. How about clean install on Samsung and use Mike's thoughts on image backup when done. Not sure how many other drives you have available to use, but do not think using that ADATA any more. Not sure if there is any other hardware or driver issue yet ,always a possibility.

    i tried this and it made little to no difference.. i could take it out of my pc and just go pick up a new SSD from bestbuy or a HDD and perhaps throw windows on it and see if that makes a difference? I have nothing to lose on this pc and I'm willing to just reinstall all my games so would that be a better option to do a clean install than to go through the backup image?

    No, i didn't put the OS on the samsung.. do you want me to try that?.. i put the os on a secondary regular HDD i had without the ADATA even configured or setup in disk management at all.. so it wasn't used and issue still occured.. should i try it with the ADATA SSD hard drive removed from my pc?

    if you are ok with doing a clean install of your Windows 10, then that would be the BEST solution for you. If you wanted to buy another SSD that's fine too, their prices are coming down quite a bit lately. Just buy a GOOD brand. Samsung is one of the best.
    Then if you do go with the Clean install, disconnect all other hard drives BEFORE doing the clean install. Have your Windows ISO on a USB ready to go.
