    Usable ram problem

Hi. I'm running win 10 64-bit. I recently noticed that only 3.96 gb RAM is available of 8 gb. I tried unchecking that maximum memory button in system configuration(you know, the solution that everyone is recommending), and no change. I also tried setting maximum memory to 8192mb. That didn't help either. There is another solution, to enable memory remap in bios, but i can't seem to find that option anywhere. I'm running that UEFI Bios utility. Can someone help me out?

    Hello Nikolallic,

It would help if you could provide some details of your motherboard and memory type and how you have added your memory, e.g. do you have 4 sticks of 2GB or two sticks of 4GB and are they matched pairs?

Most problems like this can be sorted out by adding in the memory sticks one at a time into the correct slots, usually the slots are coloured to guide you into which slots are the pairs but if not, it is usually slots 1 and 3 followed by 2 and 4; occasionally I have seen it the other way around. Check each time to see if the memory is detected and is combined to make the full amount usable. If at any time it does not appear to work try a different combination or different slots.

Let us know how you get on.
