It is most likely a driver associated with one of your PCI devices which are either on the Motherboard or added as a card in one of the PCI slots. Have you tried going on the manufacturer's website for your PC or motherboard to see if there are special W10 drivers you need to install? We would need more information about your system and what devices you have installed before anyone of us can help further.

philc43, thank you for answering my post. My system is an Acer Aspire E 17 laptop, which had Windows 8.1 installed. The hard drive died and I took it to a repair shop. They installed Windows 10, because they did not have a disc for W7. I have a usb mouse attached to a usb port and the ethernet cable attached to the ethernet port. I can download drivers from acer's website, but which ones? How do I find out who makes the motherboard? Thank you. deanie44

    Hi deanie44,

You should find the drivers on the Acer website. I had a look but you will need to be more specific with the model number. Is It an Acer Aspire E17 with a number like ES1-711, that's the closest I could find. I would go for the network drivers and chipset drivers first but really you should update them all. You can check the ones you need by looking in Device Manager and making sure you get the right one, e.g for network if your Device Manager says Realtek you know it is the Realtek driver you need.

The site I used is http://www.acer.com/ac/fi/FI/content/drivers
