    Realtek audio driver causing distortion/speaker

In my right speaker, I have a slight distortion when i hear high-pitched sounds. I checked on my headphones and I dont hear it. I updated my Realtek audio drivers a few times. It improved the first time. I still have a subtle issue and I'm not sure what to do.

I switched the inputs on my speakers and I still seem to be getting it on the right speaker. it might be the speaker, but since it improved with the driver update, I thought I'd seek advice here before buying a new one.

Did you update the drivers to the latest one ?

if yes manually update the drivers to High Definition Audio Device via device manager.

I have the most recent driver downloaded from the above sticky. But, everytime I try to update it via Device Manager, it says the most current driver is already installed. My version now is 6.0.1.7708. The most recent is 6.0.1.7735. help!

    Follow these steps:

    1) Create a system restore point
    2) Right click and click on update driver
    3) Click on Browse my computer for driver software
    4) Click on let me pick from a list of device drivers of my choice
    5) Click on High Definition Audio Driver
    6) Click on "Yes" on the prompt
    7) Once updated, reboot the PC

Ok I did that and now I hear nothing. Should I repeat the above process with Realtek instead?

Now uninstall the drivers from the program and features and install the latest drivers from Realtek / Manufacturer's website.
