    Samsung External Hard Drive

    Hi Mates!

I'm trying to change the name of my External Hard Drive as it appears as Local Disk G on my laptop. However, upon trying multiple times it keeps on coming back as Local Disk G. Please help.

Thanks and have a nice day!!!

Hi looking at your picture you cant rename it as C, D, E, F are already connected and in use
I have an external drive I sometimes connect and use and when I do it comes up as E, or F depending what I have connected at the time.
If you wanted to give it a higher letter you would have to disconnect one of the other drives put that one in then reconnect and see if that works

The letter you cannot change but the name you should be able to change - with admin rights. Highlight the disk in the page you showed above, then right click on it and "Rename".

Try through Disk Management, but don't change the letter, it may corrupt file paths already created.

That ought to work in Computer also. I just changed one partition from 'Test' to 'Test1' without problems.
