Blu Ray Fix on Windows 10
Is there a fix to use a blu ray writer on Windows 10? Do I have go back to Windows 7 to have my Samsung blu ray writer to be recognized? I would appreciate some suggestions. Thanks

Have you tried drivers from Samsung? Asking because my Asus works and is described as such in Device Mgr...no problem W10586 drivers.
Happy New Year
I have two desktop PCs with Bluray burners. Both work under Windows 10 with the standard Microsoft drivers. I haven't seen custom drivers for optical drives for about 20 years.
People have had trouble with optical drives after Windows 10 upgrades. I haven't, so I won't try to direct you to fixes that I haven't tried.
A clean install of Windows 10 would probably fix things, because the problems seems to be due to Windows Registry errors, but you may not be prepared to try that.
There is no manufacturer drivers for optical drives, all there is, is the generic driver or ASAPI and ASPI layer used in older Windows versions as they all use the built in driver which is generic and from Microsoft. Sometimes the lower and/or upper filters get corrupted so one just need to delete those and it will fix itself.
