OK. One more app to try.
    Download: GhostBuster
Right click and Run as Admin, Click on the first item, scroll down to the bottom, hold SHIFT and click on last item then right click->Add Devices. Click on "Remove Ghosts"

Thanks for the nifty app, unfortunately the ghost device is still there. It is unbelievable.

I do have this odd device at the very top, but I cannot remove it:

Oh okay. You cant remove it with this app anyways because it isn't listed as 'ghosted.'
I was actually referring to the Bluetooth peripheral Device listed underneath all of the zeros, under "no device class specified."

    For others' future reference:

Please be carefull with marking devices escpecially under System, Non PnP and Audio are some that seem to be ghosted permanently but are required for correct operation of hardware. Also do not remove (if present) the top entry with a null guid as name as I'm still not sure what it's purpose is. Use the class filter carefully.

I think it may have to do with an install of the WIDCOMM bluetooth software that was leftover from an older version of Windows (before the upgrade).
I tried to uninstall it, it gave some errors of "unable to find .msi" so I'm assuming that the old software was partially uninstalled this 3rd party bluetooth software.

By doing this, it just removed the icon of the ghost device from the My PC area.

    I partially solved this.

First, I went into the registry to the exact place where I mentioned before. Under that registry entry I changed HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{ca4fe134-f2ae-4594-b009-08cb336539be}\DefaultIcon and modified the Value Data to a random icon. I figured if I couldnt delete it I may as well make it look decent.
Then when I went to check My PC, I right-clicked the icon there and had the option to remove the device from My PC.

Unfortunately, it comes back randomly when closing out the window or hitting 'refresh'.

So my next task is to permanently remove this from the registry. Somehow, since the ghost device is no longer installed and this is just a shortcut issue.

    SOLVED:

I found the ghost device in the registry by the key name (long string of letters and numbers I posted on the first page) and deleted that entry from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace

Finally, permanently removed from appearing in My PC. Thanks to all who contributed.

    Ghost devices

This problem still exists in Windows 10 in 2022.
