    A matter of curiosity

I have just bought a new Asus ROG G750JM and getting it to accept 7 drivers without mucking around in the BIOS has made it only just usable - bog standard graphics and no USB ports etc etc
Now a friend asked me why I didn't use the 8 it came with and my reason is because I don't like it that much unless it is run in 7 style and the HDD that came with it is an older type 5400 rpm spinner - very slow compared to the SSD and 7 I installed after removing that contraption.
Besides Asus seem to have made this rig for using 8 and I am wondering if it is going to be hard to "downgrade" to 7 is it going to be easier to upgrade to 10 when it arrives without major alterations for example to the BIOS??

I'll take a stab at this.. It might be that Asus didn't write Win7 drivers for that PC.
Sounds silly but given it comes with WIn8.1 it's possible.

Note: have you tried to use say, Classic Shell or Start8 to get the star menu to act like Win7??

I've installed all 3 of the W10 TP builds as they came out, and in each case, W10 had all the drivers for my system. I didn't have to do any alterations in the BIOS to get them to run properly.

For downgrading it may be wise if you follow thios tutorial:

Downgrade Windows 8 to Windows 7

Upgrading to 10 (when the time comes) is probably the easier task.
