Winfast TV card can not work in 10.

I have a Leadtek/Winfast DTV 2000 DS Plus TV card for my PC which worked fine on O/S win7 pro 32 Bit, ADSL landline and using WMC,I have upgraded to NBN and Windows 10 Pro 32 bit. I have checked with NBNco, Bigpond, my service provider and have had a back test done. All of my standards of service are perfect.

I am able to get all Prime 7 stations, but only by selecting Sydney as my location area. All stations in Coffs Harbour are dead. I am in Brunswick Ave and can see the mast from my desk. I live in a 15 unit block sharing a common Antenna.

Tried scanning in all options, all codecs are current, still no joy to get any free TV. So there is no problem on the O/S side can you suggest where I might find help please? My supplier suggested it is a windows problem by virtue I can receive Prime from Sydney. (I am using Taiwan as opposed to the USA region by virtue of closest are.
Not very tech savvy, 62 and trying to stay in the loop.
Very much appreciate direction, Thank You,
    Gerald Wilson

If I understood correctly you are trying to watch cable TV with your card? You can tune the channels by selecting Sydney as your area, but then you cannot access your real area channels? If this is the case, the card works OK, so there is something wrong with the settings or the provider. I am not familiar with cable TV as we haven't any in Greece, so I cannot help you more. If there are several transmission standards involved, check if you can override the region setting and manually change the standard. If you can, then try all standards one-by-one, and you can find the one that works for you. For example, before digital TV was available in Greece, we were using analog TV tuners. When choosing Greece as our region, the tuner would be configured automatically to SECAM rather than PAL and we would get wrong colors. This is because in the 80's we had both PAL and SECAM and TV tuner manufacturers thought we still have. To get proper reception we had to either set the region to Germany (PAL B/G as in Greece) or manually select PAL B/G. It may well that be your case as well. Try all standards and one of them should work.

    Fixed

Thank you for the time taken to assist me. I did as you suggested and scanned various town and cities.
At the bottom of the locations options, OTHER, nothing to loose, I tried that and BINGO!
Thank you Spapakons and Forums10 for being here.

    I'm Back

I am not sure if I should out of good manners, ask the Moderator if I can re-open this subject, hope he forgives me for doing so. I have since discovered as I get better educated and local advice, is a revised submission of my first post:

I have a Leadtek/Winfast DTV 2000 DS Plus TV card for my PC which worked fine on O/S win7 pro 32 Bit, ADSL landline and using WMC,I have upgraded to NBN (Fibre cable) and Windows 10 Pro 32 bit.
Have checked with NBNco, my fibre cable supplier, all is to maximum performance.
Telstra/ Bigpond, my service provider, did a back end test, also no faults detected. All codecs are current on the card.
I do not have cable TV and and am only seeking free TV from the State Broadcaster.
    Configuration:
Country: Australia, Sensitivity: Fast (low sensitivity, tried all 3 options) City: as below:
I am able to get all Prime 7 stations, by selecting Sydney as my location area. But No other stations or radios.
If I scan Newcastle, then I can get TV 10, NBN, SBS, ABC and all radio stations.
End result at present is to re scan if I want to changes stations. Dual recording is not going to happen or even watch and record 1 station.

    Reception:
I am in Brunswick Ave and can see the Bruxner Park Mast, 500 meters from my desk and cannot pick up a single station, Radio or TV when choosing my location as Coffs Harbour.
Have scanned and played the TV card in both situations of the TV on or off, to check on possible cable clashes, presuming my PC aerial cable in the bedroom is common to the TV lounge connection.
Works perfectly in either Tandem or just the PC.
Also made fresh connections to the lead from wall to PC. Tested the TV in the Bedroom and it worked fine, so can't see the point of buying a frequency tester and it appears my Winfast does not allow for individual station scanning.
Thank you all, and El Moderator, halfway there.

I thought you solved it by choosing Other as region. However, you could try a third-party software like Chris TV, but I don't know if it supports all types of reception. I had used it in the past for analog TV with an analogue TV tuner. Probably as long as you have your card properly installed it will work, haven't tested it with DTV. If it doesn't support digital reception, you can Google for similar software.

I find it so difficult to use this forum, considering it is a help site, but so difficult to navigate. I have to have posted 5 posts before I can private message. What nonesence! I have been contacted by member body99 regarding my post and am buggered how to reply.
So I will go the backhole way and ask a smarter guy to send him my reply please...............
I had a problem when I went over to Win10, but in fact it boiled down to my stupidity not a driver error. If you don't come right, I could try and send you my CD. However, my route would be to contact the people I bought my TV card from: D&D Computer Technology Sydney. The sales staff are really helpful, particularly Cindy, not her correctly spelt name, but sounds like Cindy. She is one very clever Asian lady and always ends the call making me wish I knew what she does.

So give that route a try first and I'll send you my CD if you think it will help.

    Hi Gerald,
Thanks for your reply, no one has sent me any messages or advice, you're the only person that has been able to.

Unfortunately the people who I purchased mt LeadTek TV Capture Card are no longer trading. They done a hudini. The device is only 3 to 4 years old.

I may have to get a copy of your CD if I could so I can get mine to install and work.

    Cheers.

Hello! Have a look at the official LeadTek download site. If you have Windows 10 32-bit, you should be able to make the card work. See if there is any 32-bit driver for Windows 10 or 8 or 7 or Vista 32-bit (with that order to maximize compatibility). In worst case it should work with Windows XP drivers either by running the setup as Administrator with Windows XP compatibility or by installing the driver manually from Device Manager. In the second case you can use WinRAR to extract the driver files (if it is executable) to a folder and then browse to that folder from Device Manager. Select the first entry referring to your model and it should work. If you have Windows 10 64-bit things are a little more difficult because of the driver signature requirement. Again you download the latest driver for Windows 10 or 8 or 7 or Vista 64-bit and run the setup as Administrator with the respective compatibility mode, if required. If this doesn't work, you can restart in "disable driver signature" (test mode) and try to manually install the driver from Device Manager. In some rare cases even a driver for Windows XP Professional x64 (64-bit) could work, but I wouldn't bet on that. If you find at least a Vista 64-bit driver chances are far greater.

    I hope that helps! :)

EDIT: Unfortunately there is no driver for TV tuners in LeadTek's site (very stupid of them!), I hadn't seen it earlier. See these Google results. Also see here: http://winfast-pvr.software.informer.com/download/ and here: http://download.cnet.com/Leadtek-Win...-10199411.html

I guess your best bet is to Google your exact model. If you have Windows 10 32-bit, use any driver you can find, even for Windows XP as explained above. If you have Windows 10 64-bit I'm afraid your chances are too small...

Seems the reply from another post is your first best option, let me know if you don't come right.
