Unable to upgrade Microsoft Basic Display Adapter to Intel Graphics

    Hello guys!
I've been stuck on this problem for weeks and I can't seem to find a fix or anyone to know anything about this in other forums. Basically what I did was I went to install a clean version of Windows 10 using the media creation tool, after the installation I tried upgrading MBDA display driver to Intel Graphics 630 and in the middle of the installation process my screen went black. Tried a lot of different things like: reinstalling windows, using ddu to uninstall the drivers in safe mode and then installing them back, upgrading from 1803 to 1903 windows 10..Nothing seems to fix this issue. The only way I can use my pc is to boot in safe mode and roll back the driver to Micorosft Basic Display Adapter, but doing so my pc is kinda laggy, I can't connect an external monitor or control my screen brightness. Please help I'm desperate...

    Welcome to TenForums Morke97.

That suggests you are installing the wrong driver. You profile say 'Lenovo Y520/NVIDIA Geoforce' so I assume you must be talking about some other machine.

What CPU does this machine have? What make and model is the PC or motherboard?

I understand that this laptop has switchable graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4GB GDDR5 RAM) and Intel HD Graphics 630. So Windows should recognise both, and you should be prompted to provide drivers for either - or they should be installed by Windows themselves.

Does Device Manager show any devices with the question mark? If not, that's suspicious.

Also, did you try to download the latest drivers from Lenovo website?

Have you tried the Intel driver & support assistant? This will update any Intel drivers which you need.
