nope, it became raw because the program I used was trying to use it as a boot drive so it attempted to reformat but I stopped it instantly.
That would be reason #3 when system is performing I/O. Unplug it, cancel it, stop it. are the same

    Thank you sir! Much appreciated!
@Wynona You are so welcome!:) Just don't get hooked on Ubuntu, or they'll start talking about you
    What to expect:

1st find your drive and mount it by right click menu
    Raw formatted my external-image-001.png

Then click the Ubuntu icon in the upper left
to get to their "Apps Screen" and type gparted
and click the icon that comes up

Pick your device(there is no drive letter in Linux, they use paths)
    from the drop down menu.

Then you can go to town and reformat and/or create a new partition
move partitions, shrink and expand them(it uses a graphical slider, much easier than windows here)

When you download Ubuntu and burn it to a USB or DVD, then boot to it, you get 2 options, "Try Ubuntu now" and "Install", you choose the Try Ubuntu and it runs in you RAM just like Macrium Reflect does. That is a Live Disk.

I had a kali linux live cd and used it in order to see if I could format from there but its not even on the list from there, but it is in windows. any suggestions, I wouldnt think using ubuntu would get much different results from what I got with kali.

OK, I have fixed this problem, only took around 24 hrs of straight up transferring and editing things. I used Active@ partition to get all the files off of the drive which took since yesterday when I posted it then the hdd wasn't able to be formatted because it was write protected so I used the windows CMD, I ran it in administrator and used the diskpart command followed by the list disk command and if you don't know which disk is yours (like I didn't) because of the fact that I had 2 hdds that were the same size the Active@ program has them listed as their correct drive numbers then I just used the command select disk 6 (or whichever disk is yours) followed by the command attributes disk clear readonly the reason I wrote all this down was not only to recap but in case anyone else has a similar or the same problem they can just look this up. kinda like a "pay it forward" thing. I thank everyone involved in helping me with this and giving me ideas, I will be +repping all of you.

ok some people I cant give rep to because it says I need to spread some around before giving again to some of you, sorry but it appears the admins didn't foresee someone helping the same person multiple times.

Good for you, Mr. Foxx! Since mine's only an 8 GB Lexar Jump Drive that only has/had a Windows 10 Insider Build on it, I don't think I'll have nearly the problems you had. A format will work just fine. :)

I'm a little slow in getting mine done, though, because I just did a clean install of Windows 10 Build 10547 and had to set things up again. I think I'm about ready, though. Gonna finish up and hopefully git er done this evening or in the morning.

just an fyi, if you did a free upgrade to windows 10 from 8 or 7 you have to install the previous OS again in order to get back to your free copy of windows 10. I found that out a few days ago after I installed gnome and it erased my win10. The worst part about mine was the fact that the windows 7 that I purchased was an upgrade copy, when I bought windows 7 it was the only OS I had ever bought and I didnt think there was a difference in upgrade copy and clean install copy (they even costed the same). I had to go find a pirated version of windows vista in order to upgrade back to windows 7 then install all updates and then upgrade to windows 10. It felt like going around the world so I could walk 1 inch.

Actually, that shouldn't happen, Fox. When you upgrade to Windows 10 RTM from Windows 7 or 8.1, you're supposed to be able to do a clean install as many times as you want forever. Microsoft supposedly has the "footprint" of your system, which automagically activates Windows 10 clean installs.
