    Audio issue

I have been wracking my brain around this for almost a month now and am near my breaking point and would appreciate ANYONE willing to lend me some assistance on this issue. Basically ever since I upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10 everything works great aside from one annoying problem that I cant seem to solve. I use USB headphones and I get occasional popping and crackling sounds from all sources of sound. It starts off pretty bad after turning my PC on for the first time during the day and gradually gets less and less noticeable (but still present). These pops and cracks usually occur within 1-5 minute intervals of each other and are present in anything that produces sound on my computer (no pops and cracks if computers not playing any sound).

I have tried many things including:
-Updated drivers (Realtek HD Audio)(AMD GPU drivers)(Realtek Network Card)
-Reverted to default windows updated drivers
    - I do not have a Wi Fi card so that common problem is eradicated
    - Downloaded LatencyMon and over the span of an hour; sat on average of 150 latency capped at 700 for few seconds(not during any popping or crackling) so it doesn't seem to be a latency issue
-Disabled sound enhancements from playback devices
-Its not the headphones themselves as they work fine on other sources
-I tried an old set of ear buds that weren't USB and they seemed to work fine so it may just be USB audio.
-Cried and slammed my head on my desk repeatedly

I really don't know what more I could do at this point. I'm pretty sure its either a driver or software issue as my computer was fine before installing windows 10. (Also worth noting that I fresh installed into windows 10)

I'm sure you've done this, but I'm going to ask anyway - did you try a different USB port?
Also try disconnecting all other USB devices, as a test.

Yes, I have 3 usb ports in front and 2 open ports in the back, I've tried all 5 with same results. The only other 2 things hooked into the usb are the mouse and keyboard in the back. Unplugged them with audio playing and it still pops.

It's going to be a case of narrowing it down by disabling every piece of hardware and software, one by one, that you can do until it stops.

I've actually been dabbling in this for a bit. Tried disabling several devices in device manager including: AMD HD Audio, Realtek HD Audio.
Tried 2 different graphics card versions.
Disabled real time scanning on my anti virus.
Not entirely sure where to really go from there, afraid if I disable something vital that I might screw something up bad, I'll update some more when I try different things.

If this is a regular PC (not a laptop) you could try adding an add-in USB card that connects to, say a PCIx port, that way it would not use the regular USB connection as the electronics and USB control is done purely on the card. You can then always take the card back to the store afterwards if it didn't help.

Yeah if worse comes to worst, I was actually thinking of doing that or getting 35mm input headphones and just using my onboard sound card. I know its either a driver or software that just didn't transition well from windows 7 to 10, as that would be the only logical answer. I'll keep fiddling with some stuff. Right now I've disabled my anti viruses firewall and stopped using hardware monitoring to see if any of those helps. The issue is hard to imitate so I'll give it a few hours.

Update: I bought a PCI card but it appeared to be defective, it would work for maybe 10 minutes and then the audio would completely crap out and distort any video I was watching. Not only that but the pins on the cable connecting to the PSU were not set in place and would wobble when trying to plug it in, talk about a crappy product. Going to try a different brand I think and will update later on if it works.

Update, I managed to get my hands on a working USB PCI card. Good news and bad news. The good news is that plugging my headset into the USB Port eliminates the audio popping issue. The bad news is that it causes audiodg.exe on the task manager to use up a lot of CPU, roughly 8-10% for anything that uses any form of audio, double that if its an application that uses my microphone as well. The brand of the card is a Fresco Logic FL1009, I'm thinking it may be a driver issue because the one windows automatically gave it did not work, only the driver from the disk that it came with worked, which was from 2013. Any thoughts or ideas on this that anyone can give me for any kind of fix?
