Touchpad Scrolling Not Working - Windows 10 Upgrade - Gateway NV570P

I upgraded my Gateway NV570P laptop. As soon as the upgrade finished, the scrolling on my touch pad no longer worked. I checked the settings, and it is still set properly for the scrolling to work. I tried upgrading the drivers as was suggested in other posts, but Gateway only has touchpad driver updates for Windows 8 not Windows 10 - I tried installing those updates anyway, but it didn't fix the problem. Anyone have any solutions?

This will be easier if you have a usb mouse and/or keyboard to use while correcting your laptop.
Go into settings, devices, device manager. In device manager expand mice and other pointing devices.
Right click your touch screen device (Elan Input Device), and left click uninstall to uninstall the driver.
Windows will want to restart to complete the action. Allow Windows to restart, it will reinstall the driver, and you should now have functionality returned.

Unfortunately, you may be stuck with the problem for a long time!

The HP forums have LOTS of posts with folks with the very same problem -- not able to scroll using their touchpads. And, they have the same limitations -- no Win10 synaptic drivers available from HP for their laptops.

So, until the OEMs start providing such Win10 drivers, a lot of folks are going to be stuck with limited functionality on their laptop touchpads in Win10.
