Can't Change ACHI settings on HP Laptop

    Hi all.

As usual I'm late to the party but finally upgraded to a 500 GB Samsung EVO 850 last night.

The process was painless. I used Macrium to image the old drive, partitions and all, and it was a simple matter of restoring the images to the new drive.

    Took less than an hour.

However, apparently best practices are to enable ACHI. I can't seem to get this done on my system.

I don't seem to be suffering any performance issues according to the Samsung Magician.

Is ACHI as necessary as it's made out to be?

I do not have an ACHI setting in my BIOS, and if I remember correctly when I used to run 8.1 ACHI was enabled via the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Drive. I could be wrong.

I do not have the ACHI setting in my registry, nor do I have anything that appears to be ACHI related in Device Manager.

    Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance for the assist.
