    Keyboard problem!

I have Dell Precision T7600. My previous keyboard was Asus ROG Horus GK2000 and over time the lighting under the keys stopped working. First, the letter C stopped lighting up, and now so do many others. One by one. I decided to change the keyboard and bought a hyper X Alloy Elite RGB. However, the same thing happened with this keyboard. Does the T7600 put a higher voltage on the USB causing keyboard failures or is it something else?

Alot of people dont realize rgb really is ruff on ram sticks but isnt the case here. did you happen to mess with southbridge voltage in bios? it should never need over 1.2 max. have you tried and different usb port aswell to see if it stops killin the board? could be magnetic charged dusk inside the usb slot blow it out good. this is a head scratcher but sounds like voltage or dust shorting the port.

    @uco73 -

    Two questions:

    1) Did you contact the manufacturer of both keyboards and discuss with them?
    2) Do these keyboards have diagnostic utilities and require firmware updates?

I looked up those keyboards on Newegg.com, and they both seem to come from weird unknown 3rd party sellers (at least in the US).

The best keyboard folks I've run into are: Mechanical Keyboard Catalog and Guide.

I don't know if you have access to them or not.
Keyboard wise... I always recommend Ducky keyboards. They're pretty indestructible.
I have a Ducky Shine 2, that I've been using since 2013, and I am hard on keyboards.

Ducky Shine keyboards are my favorites. You can also pick whichever keyboard switches you want.
    Like this one, maybe...

As for the two keyboards that had problems... I would contact either DELL or the manufacturer's of those keyboards.
As others have mentioned... two different keyboards having the same problem, pretty much point towards the computer itself.

You should be plugging the keyboards directly into the motherboard USB ports. (not into the case or into a hub).

Yes, I tried everything (changing USB port on MBO, update firmware, reset keyboard) but nothing helped. I contacted manufacurer company...nothing. But key N showing all colors except blue. Strange.

Well ASUS is relatively new to keyboards, and if that HyperX is Kingston... they are too.
If you do have to buy another one... get a Ducky.

Can you get an exchange to test with?

I don't use these keyboards, so I cannot comment further. Sorry about that.
