using a port extender question win ver 22h2
i have a hp elitebook 745 amd ryzen 3500u pc and per the hp site one of the usb-c ports is said to be the usb port a pd port and ss port i got this extender 仔細檢查 ABIWAZY USB C Docking Station Dual Monitor Triple 14 IN 1 4K USB C HUB | eBay and the lan worked and the usb ports worked but the hdmi or vga ports will not work. outside of the device being bad what might i have to do to get this device to turn on the monitor? this has a usb-c port on it that shows a z arrow the instructions say is for charging my guess is charging the pc.
this is the ports on this pc the usb-c is the far right port
i tried another port extender that only has the hdmi and vga plug usb and the usb-c power ports and that one failed also, but that one worked on another hp pc but this one i asking about still did not work on the other pc.
it is possible this one is bad for those monitor ports but just in case i have to turn something on. i had it on for half an hour and did a restart and had the setting for mirroring the screens and the monitor still failed to run on. i also let window try to find a driver and nothing worked. i went into the bios and i guess i did not find anything that i understood for turning on a usb-c port it did have something checked for a statement on the usb-c port and one more line unchecked, but when i checked that one it came up with a statement that made me double think about saving it, i can maybe go back into the bios and take some photos but maybe someone here may be able to tell me if this is a pc that is not one to run one of those devices.
i do have it running on a hp port extender /replicate but just in case i need to use that device it will be nice to have it work.
