Mouse / Keyboard hang after use or before use

Right after updating to the latest Windows 10 updates, my mouse and/or keyboard hangs, i.e., goes dead, won't work for a while and sometimes whilst using it. I see this as a serious programming issue that MS has done at least to me. Has anyone found a way to get their mouse / keyboard working consistently. Yes I checked and I have the latest BIOS,

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

My partner had a similar problem. We cured it by having her stop using Edge. Every time she closed out Edge, the computer would freeze a couple of minutes later. Once she stopped using Edge, the problem went away.

I think it was a Windows update that actually caused the problem, and it may have been fixed, but we haven't tried it out to see if it has actually been repaired yet.

I don't know if you are using Edge, though, but that was our experience with the same symptoms.

    Thanks for the insight

Thanks for the insight. I'll try it. Remember Edge is started by Windows when you boot up. I try to make a practice of not using Edge or Google. I use Ccleaner to close it. I'll experiment. If I find something I'll let you know.

If it is Microsoft Edge, you can right-click on the taskbar, open Task Manager and go at Startup tab. Un-check the box to disable Microsoft Edge loading with Windows. Most likely it is about your USB drivers. Check Intel/AMD if there are any chipset drivers for your model and install it. To find out what chipset you have use Speccy or Aida64. If there are no chipset drivers, you can load Device Manager and go at the USB section. You should see Intel/AMD USB devices. Right-Click on each and select to Update Drivers. Then select the second option (manually) and then again the second option (select from a list). Once presented with the list replace the Intel/AMD driver with another version, if any, or with the generic USB driver. After replacing them all restart the computer and see what happens. This worked for me in an old motherboard its faulty USB ports would not recognize any USB device and a USB keyboard and mouse hardly worked. After replacing all the Intel drivers with generic, it worked OK.

Fixed it - and yes I think they mumble

Okay here is my solution I found. I had to listen to it several times as I couldn't really understand the mumbling to well but I got it. I also had to blow the panel up with the magnifier and that is of limited success. But I got it. Here's the utube link. BEST to YOU!

Also go into the power options and remove all the hibernation settings, eg sleep. Otherwise wonderful windows will reset all your work - what happened to me.
