Windows thinks USB ports are harddrives

I have a Laser CNC machine and using LightBurn software. After the laser is working for anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes the laser turns off. I read a post that Windows thinks the usb port is a hard-drive and tries to back it up. However, when it does that it disrupts the laser just enough to shut it down. The post said a simple fix is to disable the computer from thinking the usb ports are hard-drives. It said to just go there and disable it by checking the box. The bad part is the post never says where to go to do this. Anyone know where this setting might be????

    Thanks.

More likely is your PC software is done sending data to the CNC, and while it's lasing the USB connection goes idle.

Try this step to disable USB suspend:
Turn On or Off USB Selective Suspend in Windows 10

    Disk Management

Yes I am, however, I found a way to disable the computer from doing that in the Disk Management section.
