Thanks, updated fine but I think this may be my last one for awhile. I have seen no improvement with every upgrade.

My ASUS board has two Realtek chips PCI & PCIe GBE Family Controller - manual says 8112L /8110SC. Realtek site pointed to the v10.003 driver ref above. The setup.exe ran fine, no complaints. Device manager showed no errors. IPCONFIG looked normal except that it hadn't connected to my network.
I have 8168/8111F and I'm using the latest PCI-E Gigabit drivers. I just had a look at Realtek's site, your model is listed at the PCI Gigabit Ethernet driver, which is different from my PCI-E driver. Try downloading and install the PCI Gigabit driver and you should be OK. Of course first uninstall the previous not-working driver.
Version 6.0.1.7640 WHQL available from Microsoft Update Catalog (sorry no non-IE download links available at this time - but 7640 direct links are available from Softpedia drivers site [32bit] [64bit])
New version (build 7644) now available.

Unconfirmed, but these may be the same as ftp://ftp3.realtek.com.tw/Realtek/76...STA_Lenovo.zip

Can't get the drivers from the MS site today :/
The website has encountered a problem
[Error number: 8DDD0010]

nope you are wrong. the two 7644 packages from two different sites are NOT the same, HypnoticBob [one is WHQL'ed and the other is not]. Here's the link to 7644 WHQL from MS Update Catalog (for non-IE users using Win10 x64 only).
I downloaded 7644 myself from MS (ah Realtek doesn't have this one on the Realtek FTP site that is WHQL'ed, hah!) and checked the Digital Signatures of the HDXRT.CAT file - OS:Attr has a property value of 2:10.0, indicating that the v7644 driver is WHQL certified for Windows 10 only and not certified for use on older versions of Windows like 7 & 8.1.
So Brink, do NOT mention 7644 on the other forums because 7644 is for Windows 10 only!
