Win 10 does not recognize wireless mouse

Hi, I'm running win 10 (21H2) and it does not recognize my M510 Logitech mouse. The device manager shows an outdated 2006 mouse driver. When I try to update the driver it tells me that I have the best one already. The mouse works but with a noticeable lag half of the time. I've switched the receiver to a different USB port already and purchased a new M510 mouse. Same result. Anyone have an idea what I should do next?

I've seen that page. Which one of all those selections is the actual driver?

You will require Logitech SetPoint & the Unifying receiver software.
Then install the unifying software, open this, connect your unifying receiver, choose add device & connect the mouse.
Then use the setpoint software to configure the mouse’s settings.

The device manager still shows the old driver
This is a red herring. Many MS drivers are dated 21st June 2006. It's not old. It's an artificial date to help manage updates [anything produced by a device maker will be later and will be given priority over the MS version].

    Best of luck,
    Denis

OK, installed everything, no dice. The device manager still shows the old driver, pairing of the mouse and receiver failed!

Did you open the unifying receiver software & see the unifying USB receiver? Did you use this to pair the mouse?
Is the receiver connected to a hub or direct to the PC?

    Yes, used the unifying software.
Receiver is directly connected to a USB port.
    Tried different ones, same result.
