I have several LogiTech mice but they are not the unifying type nor the newer 'brand' of Logi. Main issue with USB Wireless mice is in not exchanging their receiver, keep them matched to the mouse they came with, it's the frequency that is the requirement.

Guys, thanks for all the input. I have marked the thread as solved, insofar that I was told that Logitech doesn't have drivers. Cheers, Ed

I have three Logitech M510 Mice. Don't be confused. The M510 does not use Bluetooth. It uses a proprietary wireless technology for its 2.4GHz dongles. The unifying receivers are not necessarily tied to one specific mouse. You can even pair more than one Logitech mouse at the same time. For example, one time I pair a Logitech M325 and a Logitech M510 at the same time. The same unifying receiver is used for my Logitech keyboard.

BTW, I have a Logitech MK550 keyboard/mouse combo. It has a Logitech K350 keyboard and a Logitech M510 mouse. It has one unifying receiver for both. When I first got it the mouse worked fine but the keyboard was intermittent. I had to move the unifying receiver from a USB 3.0 port to a USB 2.0 port to solve that problem.

In Device Manager I show this Logitech mouse driver. I don't remember when this driver was installed.

I on purposely unpaired my Logitech 510 mouse and used a wired mouse to illustrate adding the Logitech 510 mouse back to my computer.

Note that even though Logitech shows SetPoint in the downloads you will see this if you run it. SetPoint specifically says that it does not support the M510 mouse and you must use Options to set up the mouse.

Run Options. Hint: if you don't know where to find it search for it in the Start search box.

    Select Add Devices

    Select Open App (Unifying)

    Click Next

Wait a few seconds for the mouse to be found. You might have to power the mouse off and then back on.
If you can move the cursor select Yes and then Next

Click Finish when done setting up the M510 mouse.

When Options is run it will show the M510 mouse is paired

Mister Ed, thanks for the detailed post. I went (several times) through all those steps and, unfortunately, no mouse detected.

Since you tried another mouse then that is probably not the problem. Have you tried the mice on another computer? If they work OK on another computer then maybe there is something wrong with the USB ports on your computer.

When I first had a problem with the keyboard five years ago I did a lot of searching for a solution. Two things stood out:
    1. Interference caused by using a USB 3.0 port for the USB receiver
    2. Interference on the 2.4GHz band

    I tried two things.
    1. I moved the USB dongle to a USB 2.0 port. Hopefully this would eliminate any possible interference from that.
    2. I gave the 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi bands different SSIDs so I could purposely force devices on the 5GHz band instead of the 2.4GHz band. Hopefully with less traffic on the 2.4GHz band there would be less potential for interference.

There are other sources for interference on the 2.4GHz band such as microwave ovens and even Bluetooth devices. You might want to check to make sure there is nothing you are overlooking.

Well, thanks again for all your help.
It turns out that me HP PC is about 10 years old, that might account for a lot of shortcomings.
I'm currently researching to buy bits and pieces to build a new PC, hoping that all the mouse problems will be resolved then.

I forgot to ask. Have you tried a wired mouse?

I don't think it is the necessarily the age of your computer. I have five desktop computers and two laptop computers. They all work fine either with their wired or wireless Logitech mice. Only two of these computers are less than ten years old. The other five range in age from eleven to twenty years old.

I use wireless controllers only for multimedia clients that means 2 controllers 4 AAA batteries and I would love them to disappear.

I gladly run wires to save batteries all the way... no contest... A set cost as much as a cable...

I proudly run my B100 next to my Laptop and it cost nothing...

I don't know how your setup is but having a WIFI mouse connected to a laptop / desktop is just looking for interference..

In some environment we had muchos problemos with WIFI ratóns and decided to go back for these 2 reasons.

I wont tell about the one a customer decided to give Wifi mice to all his employee at once and they where all trying to pair their devices at the same time...
