    External SSD recognized as HDD

I have a Samsung 860 EVO SSD , and when connected to the laptop via USB it shows as HDD (drive "E" in the screenshot below). I have another Samsung 860 EVO SSD and 870 SSD, and when connected using same adapter/port they are correctly recognized as SSDs. I tried reformatting the drive but without success. Any ideas? Thanks

It often displays an incorrect type of drive.

The drive in which I'm using to type this post is a HD.

The same image displays SSD for each C:, D:, and K: partitions.

    Run:

Open administrative Powershell and type or copy and paste: (all at one time)
    get-disk
    get-volume
    get-partition

Post images or share links displaying the commands with results.
For share links please use one drive, drop box, or google drive.

You may have an older cable. You need to have a cable that supports UASP.
Cable SATA to USB with UASP - SATA 2.5' - Drive Adapters and Drive Converters (startech.com)
