Mouse is stuck in one spot -- ah, USB hub is the culprit?
My mouse has suddenly gotten "stuck" to one spot (bottom of screen, toward the right).
If I move the mouse, the sprite jitters around but it always snaps back to its "home." Same behavior for built-in Synaptics trackpad and USB mouse.
I found a Microsoft post here that gave some suggested solutions. I uninstalled every device under "Universal Serial Bus controllers" and "Mice and other Pointing Devices" and rebooted. The problem seems to clear up when I delete the "Generic USB Hub," but as soon as I rescan or reboot, the mouse is lassoed again.
I ran the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.
I ran all the suggested dism and sfc commands.
No luck.
Help?
Aha! I just tried unplugging the USB hub, and the mouse worked! My USB mouse is NOT plugged into that hub, but into an internal USB jack on the laptop. Do I just assume the hub is hosed, or is there perhaps something that might get it working?
