Win 10 doesn't recognize SSD , have a question.

    I have an SSD as a system disk, when I get home form work tonight I'll have a poke around to see how it can be discerned as an SSD

    This is weird , the SSD program detects my DVD drive but not my SSD .

    Go to the drop down menu at the bottom and see if there is an entry for your SSD (it will likely be P0)

    @fredc: don't worry about it too much. As it's a laptop and you only have 1 drive (SSD) it is your Windows boot and primary drive. Windows will know it's an SSD and will adjust settings accordingly to the drive. The only concern you should have and should not be neglected is ensuring proper backups of your important data (ie. documents, photos, videos) on the drive.

    Edit: but if you really want to know if it is an SSD, download CrystalDiskInfo @robgr mentioned. It will show it is a HDD or SSD.

    Thanks everybody for the help , i don't have any important files or anything i want to save on it , i never save anything as i have always used the computer just to browse .
