It seems that VIA's site is updated. The following driver fixed things for me on my Asus S400C.

The link that you provided won't work, possibly because you selected all the options and then proceeded and copied & pasted the link here. So it is showing an error.
Here is the link that will work. Just select Windows 10 from the drop-down menu.

has any one installed new one( in S400CA) and mic works.
How to find which VIA chip we have?
Yes it is, if you click on "My System Specs" you can see I've a Asus VivoBook S400CA, the one with Intel Core i3 and 4GB of ram (I've upgraded with other 4GB), and a mechanical hard disk of 500 Gb.
First I've unistalled the VIA componets on Input/output devices and the VIA HD Audio on Audio/Video/Play controllers, and VIA Platform from apps. Then, without rebooting, I've installed the new VIA package driver.
Then rebooted, and rebooted again just to be sure Windows 10 doesn't overwrite/change something.
Don't go to see which driver you have on the VIA input/output devices or in Audio/Video/Play controllers, because an alert that hardware has changed appears, and then it mess up again (mic doesn't work), and you need to do again all the procedure to fix it.
Hope also on your pc it will fix your issue.
I have had the same problem, I download the new VIA driver package yesterday and it worked, for a while, then about noon today, just out of the blue Windows 10 decides to just uninstall the VIA drivers and replaced them with Windows 10 Audio drivers (I'm reading a story on ESPN, the screen go blank for 10 seconds and blam) and I had gone back to having headphones as the default output device even though my headphone are unplugged and are on the other side of the room. I went into device manager and deleted the Windows Audio drivers and reinstalled the the VIA drivers, after a restart the Via drivers are back and everything is working as expected, for now.
