OCCT : Free, all-in-one stability test & stress test for your PC
It detects errors, but can't tell you where they come from.
From their site, large data sets is best for intel and small for amd.
I ran large and it found issues. So far an hour and a half on small and no issues. The large one ran for 7 hours so I'll give it some more time.
Does that correspond with the small/large FFTs in Prime95? If it's the common denominator, then wouldn't it mean the issue is with the RAM?
I would go easy with OCCT. I don't know how it runs today, but back when I was still overclocking (and OCCT had the little guy with the hammer), some folks would actually "harm" their comps with extended runs of OCCT.
I would imagine they have fixed that in the intervening years, but... I would still go gently with OCCT.
Every test has:
true positives
true negatives
false positives
false negatives
accuracy
At this time consider the following options:
a) swap test
b) find a local computer store for servicing
c) purchase returnable hardware components for testing
d) purchase non-returnable hardware for replacement
Did they report swap testing or their test method?
The earlier posts (29 - 37) were different from later posts 126 - 127).
Glad to read that its sorted.
