SN500 SSD - Dashboard software shows different interface speed

Dear all,I purchased a brand new SN500 500GB SSD for my Lenovo V310-15isk laptop which supports M.2 SSD with PCIe 3.0 x2. Then I installed onto the SN500 the new Windows 10 1903 Pro x64 with a clean install (UEFI USB drive used, format NTFS via Rufus). However, I notice that WD Dashboard software, in the Interface Speed section, the following are indicated:

    SSD Capability: PCIe 3.0 x2
    Connection PCIe 3.0 x1

Can someone give me an answer on what is going on? The laptop drivers are okay, nothing missing, latest updates.

These photos show the problem. The 4K random read/write is lower compared to my previous SATA Samsung 850 Evo. Does someone has a proposal? Many many thanks

That is because your laptop is only a x1 PCIe3 interface.

Thank you for the reply bro67. According to the spec sheet of this model Lenovo V310-15isk, which you can see it over the internet just google it, it is clearly mentioned PCI Express 3.0 x2 or SATA 6GB/s for the M.2 SSD drive connection. So the motherboard supports both.

It may be able to support that device, but the chipset is set by the factory to only be an x1.

Thanks bro67 for the answer. Even then I should get similar results with my previous 850 Evo Sata 3. These are worse and with "these" I mean the 4k random ones...The Evo was 45 read 140 write in mb/sec

I would not put much into what those test results show.
