Printer keeps printing same document... Notification: error printing

    Hello,

looking for a solution all day, I ask you guys if you have tips or tricks for a solution.

    Case:
When printing a document to my printer HP1018 (via printer server StarTech PM1115UW), the printer keeps printing that document

    Analysis so far:
+ The program (Word, PDF printer or Notepad etc) gives an error like: "Print Notification. error printing document..."
+ the spool files in \windows\system32\spool\printers\ are not deleted
+ when I print a document to the print server with my Android telephone, no problem.
+ so problem must be in my Windows 10 configuration

    Action so far:
Already reset and setup configuration printserver and deleted printer driver and reinstalled it

    Anyone ideas?

Screenshot : while printing testpage status blinks from "Printing" to "Print error" very fast.

    Cheers

    Hello @kvenl,

Have you got anything in %SystemRoot%\System32\Spool\PRINTERS\ > Copy & Paste into Explorer and press Enter ?

Is so, you could Copy & Paste the following commands into a CMD Prompt and press Enter after EACH.

    Code:

    net stop spooler
    DEL /f /s /q %SystemRoot%\System32\Spool\PRINTERS\*
    net start spooler

    I hope this helps.

That is what I did many times to make a clear test.
It was the only way to stop the printer.
I did it by hand (not scripted) with services and then delete the files

Did you install the driver from HP's website, or Windows automatically installed it?

For whichever method of installation, uninstall, and try installing the other method.

So if Windows automatically installed the printer, uninstall it, and download the drivers from HP's site, and
If you installed the printer driver from HP's site, uninstall it and try installing it by adding a printer from within Windows.

Despite my suspect to Windows 10 config, it seems te be the print server.
Android works ok, but two other Windows computer do the same.....

So the printserver will be returned....

    Thank you for you thoughts.

That is annoying. At least you managed to narrow it down to the cause !
