Anyone else have this problem while upgrading?
Looks like it's a bug. You could try rolling back to your previous OS, install the Microsoft Standard usb controller driver and run the upgrade again? But mine is working fine after a clean install.
Where would I get the Microsoft standard USB controller driver from?
Go in to the properties page for the USB device and select update driver - then select the standard driver not the intel one.
I have similar problem. Thanks for the splash top idea.
i have an asus sabertooth 990fx gen1.
asmedia and all other usb controller not working.
i managed to log in windows with an old keyboard on the ps2 port. No mouse made a use of the tab key like crazy.
it wasn't easy to download the splashtop streamer .
now I am doing a system restore, but an unspecified error occurred during system restore.
I guess I'll try a different restore point.
Most people having this problem is with an ASUS board.
We all have Phone and like the AIcharger+ function of the Asus board that allow faster charging.
For some reason Windows 10 doesnt like it.
This is how I remove it and got my keyboard and mouse and all USB controller back.
Now there is 2 way of doing it without having USB keyboard. you need Splashtop remote control for your computer or you need a PS/2 keyboard and a lot of TAB keystroke and shortcut.
In the windows menu, go to settings
push TAB twice and go in System (display, notification, apps, power)
down arrow twice and go under Apps & Features
Tab twice to go to "Type an app name" box and Type Ai
3 Tab and arrow down to selection Ai Suite II
Uninstall it, confirm the uninstall.
it open up another program
the first up of the Asus utility should be Aicharger plus,
you need to uninstall it and then reboot.
and now,..... "Voila" everything is back working.
I think I tried to turn it off into the Bios without any results but correct me if I'm wrong.
Good luck every one
THIS. Seriously, I just had to find this out by fishing thru driver details because apparently Deflect here is the only person on the internet that knows the correct answer. THANKS GO OUT TO DEFLECT. You are a fine Canadian, sir.
I had to go to my shop and borrow an ancient PS/2 kb and mouse to get this working.
Keep in mind far as I can see it was JUST AI Charger+ causing the issue. Though unlike D, i dont see the problem with getting rid of it. Its a fluff program, could just plug the thing into the wall since the computer is gonna run off a power strip anyway.
I can confirm that removing JUST the AI Charger+ app is all that is needed to fix this problem. My MB is an Asus P8Z68-V Pro. So, just go to Programs/Features and remove AI Suite II. When you do that you'll get a list of apps within the AI Suite, just select to remove the AI Charger+ app - some of the others are very useful. Then reboot, that's it! Thanks Deflect! :)
