    A very important part of customizing/changing a pinned icon(or even a customized Start Menu icon or Start Tile) is you MUST unpin it first before making changes, so the cache can refresh. As with any OS file(an icon is just a clickable picture link file in different sizes), if it is in use, it cannot be changed or updated.

    Playing around again, I have no idea where it will end up, but I want it to use as little color changes from the default theme as I can, but still have a few noticeable changes. like the one I did for Kari, who needs it 100% readable 100% the time, so I'm only change window chrome, and not window background color or text color.

    Window Chrome:
    Definition: Chrome is the visual design elements that give users information about or commands to operate on the screen's content (as opposed to being part of that content). These design elements are provided by the underlying system — whether it be an operating system, a website, or an application — and surround the user's data.

    Not coincidentally, "Chrome" is also the name of Google's web browser, though I don't use the term in that sense here.
    I don't know who came up with the term "chrome," but it was likely a visual analogy with the use of metal chrome on big American cars during the 1950s: the car body (where you sit) was surrounded by shiny chrome on the bumpers, tail fins, and the like.

    Similarly, in most modern GUIs, the chrome lives around the edges of the screen, surrounding the middle area, which is dedicated to the user's data.

    Sorry been busy with other things - got back to SMACC...

    Colorizationcolor alpha doesn't seem to carry over - no matter what level of transparency set, the taskbar and StartMenu remain at the same level of opacity - am i missing a setting?

    Beta to test. (NB: after selecting the transparency level click the colour bar again to confirm save)

    Downloaded Craig, I'll play with it this weekend. I've been messing around with theme colors again, basically recycling a couple of old ones, to fit new papers.
    @Superfly,
    Craig is there a way, for beta's at least, you could add something that logs usage and collects error reports maybe using DCP service or we could upload it to you after using it a few days, so you get the correct information. That might help you a bit.

    Is the overall color inversion happening because of the new alpha value?
    This is in the preview and the colors at the bottom.

    I get some colors that look quite faded(the gray scale nearer 255) and need to adjust it waaaay down near 0 to get the actual color.

    Yeah, that's a good idea - I'm busy re-writing it as the code is a bit all over the place.

    May well be the case. That setting comes from accent colour, it probably looks up the colorization alpha value and applies it automatically.

    Something I am learning along the way using SMACC to customize system colors, if you use lighter versions of colors(210-240 on the grayscale) you get a beautiful metallic like gradient when setting Button Highlight and Button Shadow.

    The only negative effect is, in Event Viewer part of the description header, uses these registry entries too, and might be a bit hard to read, but does not affect the rest of the program, as only tells you when it was last refreshed(when starting it) and just say's "OverView and Summary"(so no big deal):
